![]() Part of this lies in the fact that 2D side-scrolling platformers were on the way out, with Nintendo itself switching gears to make the Nintendo 64 and 3D platforming games. While Donkey Kong Country 3 was well received, it was somewhat muted when compared to the acclaim that its predecessor received. His lack of appearances since then is largely due to his fan reception, as well as the letdown that was his first game. Sadly, this would be Kiddy's last playable appearance, though his older brother Chunky Kong was playable in the 3D sequel Donkey Kong 64. ![]() This Game Boy game was the third handheld spinoff of the series, and like its predecessors, it essentially ported elements of the SNES title to handhelds for a whole new game. Kiddy Kong would also co-star with Dixie in Donkey Kong Land III. The storyline of DKC3 sees Donkey and Diddy kidnaped, with Dixie Kong having to babysit her cousin Kiddy and take him along for the ride to save them. His strength and versatility make him a sort of mixture between the play mechanics of Donkey Kong and Diddy Kong from previous games. As his name might suggest, he's a large ape baby who, despite his age, is tremendously strong. Kiddy Kong, known as Dinky Kong in Japan, was the co-star of Donkey Kong Country 3: Dixie Kong's Double Trouble!, the third entry in the Donkey Kong Country series. ![]()
